THE BLOGGER ENQUIRER

ISSUE # 3

TPP:

I am delighted to interview the person behind the blog known as 'Venus Vexed', sit down Gentlemen and have the smelling salts nearby, 'SixFootBlonde' aka Six is in the Prankster’s House!!!

  http://6ftblonde.blogstream.com/

   http://theprairieprankster.blogstream.com/

TPP:

Miss Six's sweet, insightful and fun style has brought us thoughtful commentary and a quick smile to Blogstream. She is also the force behind the blog known as 'Needs More Cowbell' http://needsmorecowbell.blogstream.com/ so we have a true multi-tasking, multi-dimensional powerhouse thing going on here.

TPP:  Six, thank you for agreeing to this interview here at the Mile High Palace of The Prairie Prankster. Before we get this going, I would like to thank Ice and Leo for providing air travel to Miss Six. All right then, did I miss anything in my opening about your blogging, anything to add before we start?

SIX: Well first, thank you so much for the very kind words, Pranky! *mwah*mwah* [Euro style air kiss on each cheek] It's good to be here at the famous Mile High Palace, too!

Six: I would be remiss to not also credit my boy EM Diesel, whom I've spent many late night hours of conversation and brainstorming with in creating the "Cowbell" music blog. And that goes for you too, Mr. Modest Pranky Pants... you're the third member of this Cowbell Staff trio! You have also worked very hard and produced some stellar posts for the blog, sweetie! But, do you think you could uhh.... clean up your penthouse office suite over in the Cowbell Towers some time soon? It's getting a little too messy in there with all those burrito wrappers and empty pizza boxes stacking up. :)

Six: This isn't really known, but I do write a very small third blog, too, that I haven't publicly mentioned before now... it's called "Girl Down The Street" http://girlnextdoor.blogstream.com/ . In essence, I'm writing song lyrics there, based on thoughts written in my journal from a pretty painful break up in my past.

TPP:

Wow, Six! I like that blog a lot. I’m impressed. I am a fan of ‘Girl’ and I think it is really cool you are branching out.

SIX: Thanks, Pranky...I don't write in "Girl" very often, but its cool writing lyrics whenever songs start forming in my brain.

TPP:

And ‘Cowbell’ really is a community effort isn’t it? I appreciate a place to post the occasional non-Paradox stuff I write and I promise to shovel out and hose down my office before it gets too hot outside. Was that part of your vision, inviting others to contribute posts to ‘Cowbell’ or did that just sorta happen spontaneously?

SIX: Yes, it was definitely part of the Master Plan that Diesel and I came up with, having guest writers in Cowbell, because there are so many people here who love music like we do, and we did not want to limit it to only our own favorite genres. It's all about the love, baby! It has been so much fun working with everybody, too!

TPP:

OK, onto our 1st question. What caused you to start a blog?

SIX: I think all of us here have a creative Jones we're wanting to let run free somehow. I started here last October as a better alternative to my journaling. Better because I'm VERY visual and know that the impact of words is amplified tremendously with the use of just the right picture to capture the emotion of my words. Hopefully, I am accomplishing that in my "lyrics book" on "Girl Down The Street" which reflects the deeper, "street-poet" side of me who writes words to songs. And I do use the word "poet" very loosely! I could never dream of being in the same league as you, Diesel, and Scratch.

Six: But, "Venus Vexed" is truly the 'every day' me. Anyone who has known me from the beginning of "Venus" would take from my blog that I am a positive, up-beat, fun loving, sometimes flirty, sentimental, and "Pro-Military, Mom, Apple Pie and Football" kind of girl.

TPP:

You know, if I brought you Home to my Mama she might drop dead on the spot but she would have a humongous smile on her face for her lucky Son! LOL

SIX: Awww.... thanks!! (I think?) Wait a minute... I just killed your Mama! Not good, not good...

TPP:

Nah, she told it me was OK, I swear……LOL

SIX: Well, okay, if you say so.... she does look so peaceful, though :)

TPP:

Has your experience on Blogstream matched up to your original expectations when you started?

SIX: Absolutely NOT!! I'm not sure I really understood the whole concept when I started. Truly, I expected nothing other than to see my thoughts in cyberspace. I never could have anticipated, nor expected, the wonderful interaction from others that happens when you start writing... and the discovery that it moved someone else to make a comment just blew me away in the beginning!

TPP:

Would you do anything different knowing what you now? Lessons learned?

SIX: No, I don't think I would do anything differently. My instincts are pretty much on target most of the time. Kinda like that "Third Eye" thingy you wrote about the other day!

TPP:

3rd Eye and TV Eye, we got to use’em all!

TPP:  You recently mentioned on your blog that you were considering on-line dating, tell us what are the qualities you like to see in a Man, the things that would get your attention and make you think this is a Man I would like to meet?

SIX: Of course, his appearance would grab my attention first. While it's been a long time since I've dated a guy with hair shorter than mine, I think shaved heads are kinda sexy too! I'm attracted to non-traditional looks in general. However, what actually KEEPS my attention beneath it all is a man who turns out to be funny, has a big heart, loves music like I do, is smart, is a good conversationalist, and above all--knows how to treat a lady.

TPP:

So a balanced package as it were, easy on the eyes and the lights on and somebody Home inside. And you are flexible on the Hair issue which I suspect has provided great encouragement to just about every single straight Male over 17 with a pulse but a less than perfect hair line. You heard it here first, Guys! What about height?

SIX: Yeah, I said I like shaved heads too, and certainly nothing in between is a deal breaker. As for height, I kinda like when I can look the guy right in the eyes, give or take an inch.

TPP:

What would be a cool date, you know, fun and or romantic, our inquiring minds are very, very curious about this? =8-D

SIX: If a date has any chance to end up romantic, it's gotta start out fun first! A concert date would be cool. Meet up beforehand and cook out something on the grill, have a few adult beverages, good conversation, get our jam on with whatever music we'll soon be off to see live.... then go to the concert and enjoy the tuneage and each other's company. Afterwards... It just depends on how well he's played his cards up till then.

TPP:

Sure, an event or happening starts a foundation of common experience. That’s why I enjoy a live concert or play myself. The spontaneity of the performance is something 2 people can share and remember forever.

SIX: [Does anyone else think these are subliminal hints for asking me out? ;]

TPP:

I am just asking the types of questions that the inquiring and discerning readership of Lucy’s fine publication would ask my Dear Six. ;->

TPP: Just trying to get the flavor of the person behind not just one, not just two, nope, you have 3 really cool blogs! So what is your favorite style of cuisine?

SIX: Whatever you're cookin'! Hey.... is that filet mignon I smell wafting from the Palace Kitchen? And isn't that a candle lit table for two over there? And Barry White tunes playing softly on the stereo? Oh my..... ;)

TPP:

[reaches for and uses smelling salts…] You are the perceptive one aren’t you? =8-D  Yep…this really makes me very, very Happy!

TPP: O.K. Let’s get this part done and then have a little bite. You seem to be very fond of music, do you play or have you ever played an instrument or sing?

SIX: Oh yeah, I sing!! If you turn up the volume to the precise level of drowning out my own voice, I sound spectacular! Do I play? Well, I've picked up some sweet guitars and glided my fingers across the strings, but the sales guy usually ask me to put it down and leave the shop within moments of honing in on my coordinates. But really, I used to mess around with my exboyfriend's guitars and it was pretty cool.

TPP:

I’m kinda surprised the Music Store Guy didn’t offer you free lessons?LOL

SIX: Well, I did get dinner and some cool Fender swag outta that one. ;)   T

TPP:

My faith in Men folk has now been completely restored!

SIX: ....and mine! ;)

TPP:

What one person, living or deceased, would you like to sit down with and have a long chat with? It could be over dinner or on the porch or sitting in a nice park on a picnic blanket. Who would you spend that time with and could you tell us why?

SIX: I'm gonna say William Shakespeare since I only can pick one. To me, he was the ultimate wordsmith. I'd love to pick his brain for a while, word geek to word geek, and try to learn all I could about what motivated him and what it was like for a writer living in the Elizabethan era. Otherwise, I would have chosen all four of my beloved, deceased grandparents; one I'd never met, and the others died when I was quite young.

TPP:

I understand about the grandparents, I really do. Is there any particular work that stands outs that you like by Shakespeare? Oh, and be prepared for lots of Sonnets in your comments LOL

SIX: I admire his works as a whole, but Hamlet is one of my favorite plays. I also love Shakespeare quotes such as "If music be the food of love, play on".

TPP:

Would you have Dinner with Billy Shakespeare or a less formal conversation? You know, have some Ale or Mead and a Lamb shank or would you go for a more modern thing?

SIX: A picnic, I think. Out in the country, under the influence of Mother Nature. Certainly a bottle of wine, some cheese, and some good conversation.

TPP:

Picnic, wine and cheese, O.K. got it. Here’s another that could be a little tough. It was for me. What 5 bloggers on Blogstream would you like to meet?...  Assuming of course, you might perhaps maybe want to meet some of us…

SIX: I would be truly honored to meet ANY of the two-dozen or so people I am very fond of on Blogstream [why does this suddenly feel like picking sides for dodgeball in gym class?]. However, since I'm having to choose... let's roll! My draft picks are in no particular order; however there is a motive I will reveal at the end:

Red Rover, Red Rover... send Pranky and Diesel right over! This is a given... ya'll two are my best buds and we are personal friends outside cyberspace. Plus, I adore you both. 'Nuff said.

Next I call Captain Morgan over from "Living and Dying in 5/4 Time" ... he's enchanting and fun and has charisma that's like a magnet.

Now I call wayf from "Stream of Consciousness" ... I just dig Wayf and am touched by the rawness of his writing and poetry.

And finally, send that mysterious Scratchy from "Echoes From The Tomb" right over... he's one of a kind, there is no other!

So here's the deal, dudes: I'm forming a Blogstream rock band! Diesel, go get behind those Pearl drums over there... Scratchy, tune up your Strat... Wayf, start rockin that bass guitar you brought... and Captain Morgan, try to set the night on fire with your keyboards! And Pranky, warm up your voice, cause you're going to be the Frontman. Let's see some of that "get down tonight" Pranky swagger you got goin' on! Come on now... work it, work it!!

SIX: What to name the group..... "Blog Zeppelin"? "The Beastie Blogs"? "Lynyrd Blogyrd"? Oh hell... now I need a Roadie and Co-Manger! Come on, Big Chris!! The band needs ya!! This is your forte, baby!! :) You knew Six would have to have six Streamers, didn't ya!

TPP:

LOL Now that was an answer that was totally unexpected. Thank you for the vote of confidence in my singing but my range is errr, a bit limited but I do gots lots of Soul. You know I don't have long hair or anything but I do have hair and not just in my ears...LOL

TPP: But seriously, I know you and Diesel have been hanging out a lot so that makes sense. Wayfarer is a very fine blogger and is quite knowledgeable about all sorts of music. I hope we could get Scratch to plug in and let her rip, maybe we get him a Chauffeur so he makes it on time? And that Cap’n Morgan on the keys and he can build a lot of cool stuff besides musical instruments.  I am sure club owners would enjoy negotiating with Big Chris if somehow you could not get us paid. LOL

SIX: Well, I think this idea TOTALLY RAWKS!

TPP:

Cap’n Morgan is also a heck of a writer and I bet Chey http://hisqueen.blogstream.com/

would come along too. And Wayf is writing some awesome stuff on his 3 blogs, I really like ‘Stream of Consciousness’ a lot.

SIX: Yup... all that talent for prose, and they can kick it with their instruments, too!

TPP:

On behalf of Lucy and Peachy I ask you this and then will duck for cover: length or girth? =8-D

SIX: HA! Only a man would think that this could possibly be an "either/or" question!!

TPP:

I would agree, it does not have to be either or, why settle?LOL

SIX: As they never said in the anti-war protest movement: "Hell no, we won't..." uhhhh, "settle!" And that's all I got to say about that. :)

TPP:

Very good then. If you could get in a jet, and you had the week off and had the means to go somewhere, where would you go, what would you do and why?

SIX: Well, I think the band and I could use some R&R fun in the sun at Paradise Island, Bahamas after all those gigs on the road. Great place to sip some frosty drinks, play in the turquoise water, chill with Bob Marley, and duck out from all the groupies. Or find new ones. :)

TPP:

So you are a “Beach Girl” aren’t you? Are you some kind of water baby? Have you always lived near water?

SIX: Always. And a big time beach girl, yes! There's just something about the salt air and sand between your toes... don't know what I'd do without it.

TPP:

Were you born and raised in VA Beach?

SIX: No... I was born in Michigan, but I moved to Virginia Beach in my very early 20's with my best friend, sorta like Thelma & Louise ('cept we didn't shoot anyone).

Six: I thought it was just going to be a road trip for a couple months, but it seems I stayed. :)

TPP:

I remember reading about your daughter, 5'9" Brunette I think you called her, she is graduating School too? So do you see your musical tastes influencing her and does hers influence you? Are you a Rocking Family or what?

SIX: Yes, it's exciting times in Sixland this month, as 5'9 Brunette graduates from high school in the middle of June! As for music, well, let's just say a few years back she was feeling the hip hop urban music pretty much exclusively, like most of her contemporaries here. One day she somewhat reluctantly accepted the offer to go see her first ever rock concert with me and my rock guitarist boyfriend.... and she's never been the same since then. Now she's a rocker girl, too!

TPP:

Wow!

TPP: Did I mention, Six,  that I got a lot of Family and Friends in Virginia and the Carolinas….oh wait, one more question, I must ask this and then we’ll have something deelish…OK?

TPP: What do music CD or CDs do you have right now in your CD player?

SIX: At the moment I have four: Chevelle "This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In)"; Foo Fighters "In Your Honor"; Alice In Chains "Greatest Hits" and Bonnie Raitt "Road Tested".

TPP:

Well there you have, Friends, a Strong Woman with a wide range of interests, talents and who takes a very, very nice picture to boot. I learned some very interesting things about Six and I hope you all enjoyed our chat.

TPP: OK, Six, let’s have ourselves a little appetizer, here’s really nice Merlot, I’ll turn off th……..

Hey Lucy! You did a great job putting it all together for us! Pranky was a superb host whilst I was visiting at the "Mile High Palace" for my interview.... however, "Mr. Happy!" kept interrupting with some kinda talk about if I wanted a membership in the "Mile High Club", or something like that... not to mention "Mr. Happy!" having a, uhhh... wardrobe malfunction once or twice during the candle lit dinner.

I do have an investigative report I shall be filing with Ice later about that incident, as he requested. I must say, it was quite a hard story, but I handled it like a pro!

Anywayyyyyyyy..... I'm off on The New Residencia company jet and headed to parts unknown for my own interview with my mystery guest for next Sunday's Inquirer! Buh-bye from 3 miles high up in the sky! :) -Six

Thank you for your kind words, grandma baba.

One could say that Mr. Happy! and I are often seen together and many consider us joined at the hip, or ummm..., closely there abouts...

And I was very lucky to have enjoyed my experience being interviewed by Peachy and then having Miss Six as my interview subject. Two lovely Ladies who definitely put some extra spring in my step. Plus they are really bright and fun people.

And Lucy is a great editor to work with, I only felt the sting of the lash a few times and she didn't mean to draw blood...

I had a blast 100% and consider myself a very Lucky Guy!

Thanks and have a great evening,
Prank

Wow!!! What a great interview!! Prank did a bang-up job and it was great to get a little more insight into our own six foot blonde. Hey, when's the first album coming out from the new band?

Prank - great interveiw. at least I now know where my Exec VP is or was..anyway. Still waiting on the story promised by ...Six. So far all I have is credit card receipts.

Seriously....hmm what a concept. Seriously.. an interesting interveiw by Diesel, ur,er, I mean Prank, er, I mean Mr. Happy, oh hell! it doesn't matter I guess.

I am always amazed at the idea of running more than 1 blog at a time as Six, Scratch, you, and some others do.... and I'm always super impressed by it too.

Enjoyed the interveiw, and the revelations!

good job, Prank

great interview - Six

It is very frustrating for me when I do the work and people give the credit to a Guy who did nothing. I am NOT Diesel, it hurts and offends me that anyone would think I am.

I work hard to write things and yet Ice is more than happy to give credit to someone else.

I do not take being called Diesel as a compliment. It is an insult. It is not praise, it is a lack of respect for me and I am sick of it.

I gotta tell you Iceman early on in the stream I thought you and Diesel were one in the same person. I have since seen how we all have very unique writing styles and personalities.....I now know without question that Ice and Diesel and Scratch and Prank are all very unique and wonderful people with different names living different places.....We have known each other long enough by now to say you are my friends.
