 Thursday - This and That

THIS & THAT THURSDAY

speakers on...

Tuesday was election day and my ex-boyfriend, my first boyfriend, is not only the town chiropractor but now the new Republican mayor.  Like his big fat head isn't big enough....grrrrrr

********************

I finally watched Brokeback Mountain yesterday and loved it.  All I can say is that it is very endearing.

I also watched Dateline NBC To Catch a Predator....this is where they nab child molesters who prey on underage teens on the internet.  I love watching them being exposed!  I don't believe in rehabilitation for child molesters, lock them up and throw away the key.

********************

Tomorrow is prom day for my oldest daughter.....what does that mean?

$$$$

Prom dress $600 - Dad bought it thank goodness, new shoes, accessories for hair, new purse, limo, pictures, Mac make up, manicure, pedicure, hair done, tanning salon, comedy club after prom in Manhattan, weekend down the shore after....geez, am I forgetting anything?

Yeah, she is very spoiled but she is the perfect child.  No she hasn't always been....she went through 2 years of PMS and made me cry on a daily basis, purely out of shock and hurt.  But now she is beauty, brains, popular, sweet, driven and she is also a hard worker.   Thank goodness she is Daddy's little girl who has the cash to pay for most of it, she deserves it.

********************

Next week is graduation which gets me very emotional.  I am finding it very hard to grasp the concept that my baby is graduation high school, the very same one her father and I attended.  Me 1983,  her dad 1979.  It's all very surreal to me.  I get weepy every time I think of it.  One little bird is flying away...

I wonder how Six Foot Blonde, Mary & My Nutty Life are dealing with this?  They all have daughters graduating as well.

She is my oldest, I still have my 15 year old girl and my little boy who is 4, so it's not like empty nest syndrome, yet.  I just feel the time has gone by so quickly and I just want to hold on to her and hold her and keep her all to myself for just a little longer.  She is my precious little doll.  (tissue)

She is starting college locally this summer to study nursing.  She wants to be an ER nurse and then eventually become a cosmetic surgeon nurse.  What she really wants to be is a doctor though......her father and I are 100% behind her.  I'll mortgage my condo if I have to.  I want her to do everything I wanted to do but didn't...

********************

Speaking of graduation....does anyone have any ideas for graduation party favors?  We are having about 100 people at the party.  Once again Daddy is footing the hall and catering bill thank goodness.  I only have a few finances I have to pay for but one is favors.  I would like to put clear personalized labels on votive candle holders.  Anyone know where to get these cheap?

I'm also trying to decide on a sentimental gift for my daughter...any ideas?  I got luggage for my graduation and a restaurant sized jar of pickes....lol.  I love pickles and wanted to travel!

********************

Sunday is our eagerly awaited interview from Six....I have no idea who she is interviewing....(give me a hint !!!).  I know it will be a very cool interview to say the least.  Come back on Sunday for Blogger Enquirer........

Monday is Under the Covers Book Club announcement...

Last night I watched a fascinating show on TLC it's called Another 100 Things Removed From the Human Body.  I am very squeamish but I couldn't take my eyes off the screen.  Check it out:

Lucy's Class of 1983 Graduation Song

(it's a bit ironic, isn't it?)

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

Teach Your Children

You who are on the road

Must have a code that you can live by

And so become yourself

Because the past is just a good bye.

Teach your children well,

Their father's hell did slowly go by,

And feed them on your dreams

The one they picked, the one you'll know by.

Don't you ever ask them why,

if they told you, you would cry,

So just look at them and sigh

and know they love you.

And you, of tender years,

Can't know the fears

that your elders grew by,

And so, please help them with your youth,

They seek the truth before they can die.

Teach your parents well,

Their children's hell will slowly go by,

And feed them on your dreams

The one they picked, the one you'll know by.

Don't you ever ask them why,

if they told you, you would cry

So just look at them and sigh

and know they love you

Wed - Hearltess Bitch - Ann Coulter

I think she is a heartless bitch......sorry if I offend anyone, but I have never heard anyone speak so coldly.

She is a disgusting human being.

The Wisdom of Ann Coulter

Coulter on 9/11 Widows: ‘I Have Never Seen People Enjoying their Husbands’ Death So Much’

In her new book, “Godless,” right-wing pundit Ann Coulter writes of the 9/11 widows

After the September 11 attack masterminded by a terrorist hoping to spark a religious war, virtually every official and pundit knew better than to take the bait. Except for conservative commentator Ann Coulter, who wrote in a syndicated column on September 12 that in responding to terrorists "we should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity."

The column outraged the public, but conservatives, including National Review editor Richard Lowry, ascribed Coulter's column to grief over the loss of a friend in the attacks. But the following week, Coulter was at it again: "Congress could pass a law tomorrow requiring that all aliens from Arabic countries leave....We should require passports to fly domestically. Passports can be forged, but they can also be checked with the home country in case of any suspicious-looking swarthy males." This time Lowry spiked her column. Coulter responded by calling Lowry and his staff censorious "girly boys." Lowry then dropped her as a contributing editor. Other conservative leaders also condemned her comments.

What's curious is that Coulter's comments aren't all that different, in tone and style, from hundreds of others she's made over the years. But in the past, her ire was directed at her domestic political enemies---for which she drew fulsome praise from conservatives. Last year, the Media Research Center presented Coulter with its "Conservative Journalist of the Year" award. The Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute bestowed upon her its annual conservative leadership award "for her unfailing dedication to truth, freedom and conservative values and for being an exemplar, in word and deed, of what a true leader is."

Coulter is spinning her downfall as a new kind of terrorist-war McCarthyism. "People are hysterical about speech right now," she told The Washington Post's Howard Kurtz. "Everyone's comments are being taken out of context and wildly misinterpreted." At the risk of further de-contextualization, here are some of Coulter's past comments:

"[Clinton] masturbates in the sinks."---Rivera Live 8/2/99

"God gave us the earth. We have dominion over the plants, the animals, the trees. God said, 'Earth is yours. Take it. Rape it. It's yours.'"---Hannity & Colmes, 6/20/01

The "backbone of the Democratic Party" is a "typical fat, implacable welfare recipient"---syndicated column 10/29/99

Juan Gonzales is "Cuba's answer to Joey Buttafuoco," a "miscreant," "sperm-donor," and a "poor man's Hugh Hefner."---Rivera Live 5/1/00

On Princess Diana's death: "Her children knew she's sleeping with all these men. That just seems to me, it's the definition of 'not a good mother.' ... Is everyone just saying here that it's okay to ostentatiously have premarital sex in front of your children?"..."[Diana is] an ordinary and pathetic and confessional - I've never had bulimia! I've never had an affair! I've never had a divorce! So I don't think she's better than I am."---MSNBC 9/12/97

"I think there should be a literacy test and a poll tax for people to vote."---Hannity & Colmes, 8/17/99

"We're now at the point that it's beyond whether or not this guy is a horny hick. I really think it's a question of his mental stability. He really could be a lunatic. I think it is a rational question for Americans to ask whether their president is insane."---Equal Time

"It's enough [to be impeached] for the president to be a pervert."---The Case Against Bill Clinton, Coulter's 1998 book.

"Clinton is in love with the erect penis."---This Evening with Judith Regan, Fox News Channel 2/6/00

"I think we had enough laws about the turn-of-the-century. We don't need any more." Asked how far back would she go to repeal laws, she replied, "Well, before the New Deal...[The Emancipation Proclamation] would be a good start."---Politically Incorrect 5/7/97

"If they have the one innocent person who has ever to be put to death this century out of over 7,000, you probably will get a good movie deal out of it."---MSNBC 7/27/97

"I have to say I'm all for public flogging.  Tuesday Question

speakers on pretty please....

Why Do You Blog?

It sounds like an easy enough question, doesn't it?

My theory is that most of us are missing something in our lives.

Think about that.....do you agree or disagree?

My story, is quite simple.....I lost my best friend 2 1/2 years ago and basically became a hermit because of my loss, depression and frustration of my own disillusion of people in general.

I came here to write a journal for myself, to get out some of my feelings and then I started getting comments & feedback.  My first comment was from Shree'.  I thought okay this must be a crazy person writing to me.  Now, here we are friends.

I never did the chat thing....nor understood it, so I didn't trust the faceless people of the stream at first.

When I finally let my guard down, it didn't take long for me to start forming true friendships.  I can honestly say I care for all of my blog friends and actually love some of them.  I surmise this is something that has surprised most of us here.

Some of know each other's real names, email addresses, phone numbers and home addresses.  This has been a slow process and a slow letting go and trusting each other.

I went from posting personal minutiae stuff to kind of being the "cruise director" of blog as Colo has put it so eloquently.  I love making people think, feel and laugh but most of all I love bringing us all together on days like this, Question Tuesdays.  I have truly found my niche here, my place in the blogstream dysfunctional family.

I must add the "Blogstream Yearbook" was so much fun for me to do.  It was a gift to all that participated.  I can't wait to do another.  It was definitely a joint effort.  It was also a form of trust to expose ourselves in a usually anonymous atmosphere.  Plus, I learned something new!  I had no idea how to do a movie and just taught myself from beginning to end.  I love letting my artistic side flow, adding music and pictures to my posts.  I call it my smoke and mirrors since I can't write as well of some of my peers here.

Everyday here I learn from other bloggers, whether it is gardening or cooking tips, to digging deep into myself to find the answers within.

There are many deep thinkers here, spiritual old souls and great artists and poets.  I am humbled by the writing.

Blogging does have it's downside....

There is a fear of being exposed.  If one of my family, friends, neighbors or if CH ex-wife ever found out about this little hide away of mine, I would have to close up shop.  That's just the way I feel for many reasons, but mostly because I wouldn't be able to just be me anymore.  I would be judged.

Although  I have never had a run in with a fellow blogger, I know some of you have.  That breaks my heart.  We are all going out on a limb exposing our deepest selves and then when someone takes advantage of that trust is hurts us all as a whole.

It also causes a bit of tension between myself and Cuban Husband.  Sometimes I have to remind the male bloggers to be a "gentleman" when speaking to me....we have all become comfortable with each other.  Lord knows, I am guilty as well.   Because CH sometimes comes over to check out what I am doing, I don't want to upset him and I don't want to ever stop blogging either. He just doesn't get "it" so to speak.  With this I ask the "gentlemen" of the stream to act as such with me, keep it clean please.  The gals...let it rip! You can say anything.  Thanks!

This is my story....what is yours?

Is there something missing, a void in your life that blogging fills?

 The Blogger Enquier - Issue # 3

THE BLOGGER ENQUIRER

ISSUE # 3

TPP:

I am delighted to interview the person behind the blog known as 'Venus Vexed', sit down Gentlemen and have the smelling salts nearby, 'SixFootBlonde' aka Six is in the Prankster’s House!!!

  http://6ftblonde.blogstream.com/

   http://theprairieprankster.blogstream.com/

TPP:

Miss Six's sweet, insightful and fun style has brought us thoughtful commentary and a quick smile to Blogstream. She is also the force behind the blog known as 'Needs More Cowbell' http://needsmorecowbell.blogstream.com/ so we have a true multi-tasking, multi-dimensional powerhouse thing going on here.

TPP:  Six, thank you for agreeing to this interview here at the Mile High Palace of The Prairie Prankster. Before we get this going, I would like to thank Ice and Leo for providing air travel to Miss Six. All right then, did I miss anything in my opening about your blogging, anything to add before we start?

SIX: Well first, thank you so much for the very kind words, Pranky! *mwah*mwah* [Euro style air kiss on each cheek] It's good to be here at the famous Mile High Palace, too!

Six: I would be remiss to not also credit my boy EM Diesel, whom I've spent many late night hours of conversation and brainstorming with in creating the "Cowbell" music blog. And that goes for you too, Mr. Modest Pranky Pants... you're the third member of this Cowbell Staff trio! You have also worked very hard and produced some stellar posts for the blog, sweetie! But, do you think you could uhh.... clean up your penthouse office suite over in the Cowbell Towers some time soon? It's getting a little too messy in there with all those burrito wrappers and empty pizza boxes stacking up. :)

Six: This isn't really known, but I do write a very small third blog, too, that I haven't publicly mentioned before now... it's called "Girl Down The Street" http://girlnextdoor.blogstream.com/ . In essence, I'm writing song lyrics there, based on thoughts written in my journal from a pretty painful break up in my past.

TPP:

Wow, Six! I like that blog a lot. I’m impressed. I am a fan of ‘Girl’ and I think it is really cool you are branching out.

SIX: Thanks, Pranky...I don't write in "Girl" very often, but its cool writing lyrics whenever songs start forming in my brain.

TPP:

And ‘Cowbell’ really is a community effort isn’t it? I appreciate a place to post the occasional non-Paradox stuff I write and I promise to shovel out and hose down my office before it gets too hot outside. Was that part of your vision, inviting others to contribute posts to ‘Cowbell’ or did that just sorta happen spontaneously?

SIX: Yes, it was definitely part of the Master Plan that Diesel and I came up with, having guest writers in Cowbell, because there are so many people here who love music like we do, and we did not want to limit it to only our own favorite genres. It's all about the love, baby! It has been so much fun working with everybody, too!

TPP:

OK, onto our 1st question. What caused you to start a blog?

SIX: I think all of us here have a creative Jones we're wanting to let run free somehow. I started here last October as a better alternative to my journaling. Better because I'm VERY visual and know that the impact of words is amplified tremendously with the use of just the right picture to capture the emotion of my words. Hopefully, I am accomplishing that in my "lyrics book" on "Girl Down The Street" which reflects the deeper, "street-poet" side of me who writes words to songs. And I do use the word "poet" very loosely! I could never dream of being in the same league as you, Diesel, and Scratch.

Six: But, "Venus Vexed" is truly the 'every day' me. Anyone who has known me from the beginning of "Venus" would take from my blog that I am a positive, up-beat, fun loving, sometimes flirty, sentimental, and "Pro-Military, Mom, Apple Pie and Football" kind of girl.

TPP:

You know, if I brought you Home to my Mama she might drop dead on the spot but she would have a humongous smile on her face for her lucky Son! LOL

SIX: Awww.... thanks!! (I think?) Wait a minute... I just killed your Mama! Not good, not good...

TPP:

Nah, she told it me was OK, I swear……LOL

SIX: Well, okay, if you say so.... she does look so peaceful, though :)

TPP:

Has your experience on Blogstream matched up to your original expectations when you started?

SIX: Absolutely NOT!! I'm not sure I really understood the whole concept when I started. Truly, I expected nothing other than to see my thoughts in cyberspace. I never could have anticipated, nor expected, the wonderful interaction from others that happens when you start writing... and the discovery that it moved someone else to make a comment just blew me away in the beginning!

TPP:

Would you do anything different knowing what you now? Lessons learned?

SIX: No, I don't think I would do anything differently. My instincts are pretty much on target most of the time. Kinda like that "Third Eye" thingy you wrote about the other day!

TPP:

3rd Eye and TV Eye, we got to use’em all!

TPP:  You recently mentioned on your blog that you were considering on-line dating, tell us what are the qualities you like to see in a Man, the things that would get your attention and make you think this is a Man I would like to meet?

SIX: Of course, his appearance would grab my attention first. While it's been a long time since I've dated a guy with hair shorter than mine, I think shaved heads are kinda sexy too! I'm attracted to non-traditional looks in general. However, what actually KEEPS my attention beneath it all is a man who turns out to be funny, has a big heart, loves music like I do, is smart, is a good conversationalist, and above all--knows how to treat a lady.

TPP:

So a balanced package as it were, easy on the eyes and the lights on and somebody Home inside. And you are flexible on the Hair issue which I suspect has provided great encouragement to just about every single straight Male over 17 with a pulse but a less than perfect hair line. You heard it here first, Guys! What about height?

SIX: Yeah, I said I like shaved heads too, and certainly nothing in between is a deal breaker. As for height, I kinda like when I can look the guy right in the eyes, give or take an inch.

TPP:

What would be a cool date, you know, fun and or romantic, our inquiring minds are very, very curious about this? =8-D

SIX: If a date has any chance to end up romantic, it's gotta start out fun first! A concert date would be cool. Meet up beforehand and cook out something on the grill, have a few adult beverages, good conversation, get our jam on with whatever music we'll soon be off to see live.... then go to the concert and enjoy the tuneage and each other's company. Afterwards... It just depends on how well he's played his cards up till then.

TPP:

Sure, an event or happening starts a foundation of common experience. That’s why I enjoy a live concert or play myself. The spontaneity of the performance is something 2 people can share and remember forever.

SIX: [Does anyone else think these are subliminal hints for asking me out? ;]

TPP:

I am just asking the types of questions that the inquiring and discerning readership of Lucy’s fine publication would ask my Dear Six. ;->

TPP: Just trying to get the flavor of the person behind not just one, not just two, nope, you have 3 really cool blogs! So what is your favorite style of cuisine?

SIX: Whatever you're cookin'! Hey.... is that filet mignon I smell wafting from the Palace Kitchen? And isn't that a candle lit table for two over there? And Barry White tunes playing softly on the stereo? Oh my..... ;)

TPP:

[reaches for and uses smelling salts…] You are the perceptive one aren’t you? =8-D  Yep…this really makes me very, very Happy!

TPP: O.K. Let’s get this part done and then have a little bite. You seem to be very fond of music, do you play or have you ever played an instrument or sing?

SIX: Oh yeah, I sing!! If you turn up the volume to the precise level of drowning out my own voice, I sound spectacular! Do I play? Well, I've picked up some sweet guitars and glided my fingers across the strings, but the sales guy usually ask me to put it down and leave the shop within moments of honing in on my coordinates. But really, I used to mess around with my exboyfriend's guitars and it was pretty cool.

TPP:

I’m kinda surprised the Music Store Guy didn’t offer you free lessons?LOL

SIX: Well, I did get dinner and some cool Fender swag outta that one. ;)   T

TPP:

My faith in Men folk has now been completely restored!

SIX: ....and mine! ;)

TPP:

What one person, living or deceased, would you like to sit down with and have a long chat with? It could be over dinner or on the porch or sitting in a nice park on a picnic blanket. Who would you spend that time with and could you tell us why?

SIX: I'm gonna say William Shakespeare since I only can pick one. To me, he was the ultimate wordsmith. I'd love to pick his brain for a while, word geek to word geek, and try to learn all I could about what motivated him and what it was like for a writer living in the Elizabethan era. Otherwise, I would have chosen all four of my beloved, deceased grandparents; one I'd never met, and the others died when I was quite young.

TPP:

I understand about the grandparents, I really do. Is there any particular work that stands outs that you like by Shakespeare? Oh, and be prepared for lots of Sonnets in your comments LOL

SIX: I admire his works as a whole, but Hamlet is one of my favorite plays. I also love Shakespeare quotes such as "If music be the food of love, play on".

TPP:

Would you have Dinner with Billy Shakespeare or a less formal conversation? You know, have some Ale or Mead and a Lamb shank or would you go for a more modern thing?

SIX: A picnic, I think. Out in the country, under the influence of Mother Nature. Certainly a bottle of wine, some cheese, and some good conversation.

TPP:

Picnic, wine and cheese, O.K. got it. Here’s another that could be a little tough. It was for me. What 5 bloggers on Blogstream would you like to meet?...  Assuming of course, you might perhaps maybe want to meet some of us…

SIX: I would be truly honored to meet ANY of the two-dozen or so people I am very fond of on Blogstream [why does this suddenly feel like picking sides for dodgeball in gym class?]. However, since I'm having to choose... let's roll! My draft picks are in no particular order; however there is a motive I will reveal at the end:

Red Rover, Red Rover... send Pranky and Diesel right over! This is a given... ya'll two are my best buds and we are personal friends outside cyberspace. Plus, I adore you both. 'Nuff said.

Next I call Captain Morgan over from "Living and Dying in 5/4 Time" ... he's enchanting and fun and has charisma that's like a magnet.

Now I call wayf from "Stream of Consciousness" ... I just dig Wayf and am touched by the rawness of his writing and poetry.

And finally, send that mysterious Scratchy from "Echoes From The Tomb" right over... he's one of a kind, there is no other!

So here's the deal, dudes: I'm forming a Blogstream rock band! Diesel, go get behind those Pearl drums over there... Scratchy, tune up your Strat... Wayf, start rockin that bass guitar you brought... and Captain Morgan, try to set the night on fire with your keyboards! And Pranky, warm up your voice, cause you're going to be the Frontman. Let's see some of that "get down tonight" Pranky swagger you got goin' on! Come on now... work it, work it!!

SIX: What to name the group..... "Blog Zeppelin"? "The Beastie Blogs"? "Lynyrd Blogyrd"? Oh hell... now I need a Roadie and Co-Manger! Come on, Big Chris!! The band needs ya!! This is your forte, baby!! :) You knew Six would have to have six Streamers, didn't ya!

TPP:

LOL Now that was an answer that was totally unexpected. Thank you for the vote of confidence in my singing but my range is errr, a bit limited but I do gots lots of Soul. You know I don't have long hair or anything but I do have hair and not just in my ears...LOL

TPP: But seriously, I know you and Diesel have been hanging out a lot so that makes sense. Wayfarer is a very fine blogger and is quite knowledgeable about all sorts of music. I hope we could get Scratch to plug in and let her rip, maybe we get him a Chauffeur so he makes it on time? And that Cap’n Morgan on the keys and he can build a lot of cool stuff besides musical instruments.  I am sure club owners would enjoy negotiating with Big Chris if somehow you could not get us paid. LOL

SIX: Well, I think this idea TOTALLY RAWKS!

TPP:

Cap’n Morgan is also a heck of a writer and I bet Chey http://hisqueen.blogstream.com/

would come along too. And Wayf is writing some awesome stuff on his 3 blogs, I really like ‘Stream of Consciousness’ a lot.

SIX: Yup... all that talent for prose, and they can kick it with their instruments, too!

TPP:

On behalf of Lucy and Peachy I ask you this and then will duck for cover: length or girth? =8-D

SIX: HA! Only a man would think that this could possibly be an "either/or" question!!

TPP:

I would agree, it does not have to be either or, why settle?LOL

SIX: As they never said in the anti-war protest movement: "Hell no, we won't..." uhhhh, "settle!" And that's all I got to say about that. :)

TPP:

Very good then. If you could get in a jet, and you had the week off and had the means to go somewhere, where would you go, what would you do and why?

SIX: Well, I think the band and I could use some R&R fun in the sun at Paradise Island, Bahamas after all those gigs on the road. Great place to sip some frosty drinks, play in the turquoise water, chill with Bob Marley, and duck out from all the groupies. Or find new ones. :)

TPP:

So you are a “Beach Girl” aren’t you? Are you some kind of water baby? Have you always lived near water?

SIX: Always. And a big time beach girl, yes! There's just something about the salt air and sand between your toes... don't know what I'd do without it.

TPP:

Were you born and raised in VA Beach?

SIX: No... I was born in Michigan, but I moved to Virginia Beach in my very early 20's with my best friend, sorta like Thelma & Louise ('cept we didn't shoot anyone).

Six: I thought it was just going to be a road trip for a couple months, but it seems I stayed. :)

TPP:

I remember reading about your daughter, 5'9" Brunette I think you called her, she is graduating School too? So do you see your musical tastes influencing her and does hers influence you? Are you a Rocking Family or what?

SIX: Yes, it's exciting times in Sixland this month, as 5'9 Brunette graduates from high school in the middle of June! As for music, well, let's just say a few years back she was feeling the hip hop urban music pretty much exclusively, like most of her contemporaries here. One day she somewhat reluctantly accepted the offer to go see her first ever rock concert with me and my rock guitarist boyfriend.... and she's never been the same since then. Now she's a rocker girl, too!

TPP:

Wow!

TPP: Did I mention, Six,  that I got a lot of Family and Friends in Virginia and the Carolinas….oh wait, one more question, I must ask this and then we’ll have something deelish…OK?

TPP: What do music CD or CDs do you have right now in your CD player?

SIX: At the moment I have four: Chevelle "This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In)"; Foo Fighters "In Your Honor"; Alice In Chains "Greatest Hits" and Bonnie Raitt "Road Tested".

TPP:

Well there you have, Friends, a Strong Woman with a wide range of interests, talents and who takes a very, very nice picture to boot. I learned some very interesting things about Six and I hope you all enjoyed our chat.

TPP: OK, Six, let’s have ourselves a little appetizer, here’s really nice Merlot, I’ll turn off th……..

 Five Friday Fun Facts

speakers on !

FIVE FRIDAY FUN FACTS

1) As I drove around the town I grew up in today, I tried not to notice the never ending signs that read Vote for a Change, Vote "Dr. D" for Mayor.

I am so sick of reading these signs....

#1 Dr D is a Republican (sorry if I offend)

#2 Dr D is our local chiropractor

#3 Dr. D was my very first boyfriend, if you get my drift..

Just how many of you have to look at a sign with the guy who took your virginity away EVERY SINGLE DAY?

2) When I got home today, I read the local paper. I saw an ad I often see in the newspaper, it's for a local jeweler, another guy I dated in high school, "BL Jewelers".......ugh

3) Flip the page, oh how nice another guy I once dated. His family owns 2 local car dealerships, a restaurant, an electronics store and another company in which my ex-husband works for. My ex-husband lives directly across the street from me by the way. I can throw a baseball and hit his window if I ever felt the need. So this ex-boyfriend's family donated an antique organ to a church. How sweet? ugh...

Do you think it's time to bail out of Mayberry? Poor CH...

4) My cousin D married his fiance' F last Sunday. The bride was having contractions the whole time. Seems there was a little slip up before their impending wedding Spring 2007. She is Wiccan so I was looking forward to witnessing some magic, but it was a NY Yankee themed wedding instead. Maybe their reception Spring 07 will be more magical!

5) Last Tuesday I urged CH to take a half day from work so we can finally get into the city for Fleet Week. We took the ferry over the Hudson River into NY...it was so HOT !

Cuban Husband and my Little Lovey Boy on the Ferry from NYC

6) BONUS: Last night I went to see my daughter in her school's annual competition musical. Her team performed Footloose and the other team did Nemo. This lasts for 3 nights. Both of my daughters actually go to the same high school me and my ex-husband went to. I didn't notice any ex -boyfriends, but I did see my ex-husband there.......ugh.

This is my beautiful mother and beautiful oldest daughter.

They are so close and very much alike....two Libras
