Blogstream Christmas Movie

It's time to start thinking about submitting your pictures for the Second Annual Blogstream Christmas Movie

If you are new to Blogstream and are wondering, "Blogstream Movie, what in the world is she talking about?"   Let me explain...

Lucy suggested this past Halloween that I make a movie for Blogstream bloggers, featuring bloggers dressed up in costume.  Not having a clue how to do this, she coached me on how it is done.  Hubby and I had so much fun producing the movie, we decided we would like to do another Blogstream movie for Christmas!

What you do is, send me two pictures of yourself (including family if you would like to include them as well). Now, these can be pics you took over the weekend while decorating your Christmas tree, or from a Christmas past. Anything that has to do with Christmas (tree decorating, family dinner, wrapping presents, buying presents, picking out your tree, decorating your home, cooking for the celebration, posing under the mistletoe, posing in front of the tree, etc.)

What we do after we get your pics is, resize them if they need to be, decide what theme they fall under, and then put them all together with some music. Then the week of Christmas I will post the movie so everyone will be able to see it. You'll have plenty of time to show your friends, your family, and plus it will stay up on my youtube account. Yes, you will be a youtube movie star!

Speaking of movies... not only did we do the Blogstream Halloween Movie (which can be found in my blog if you go back a few pages), but I have also made my very first movie using my Sims 2 characters that I play in the Sims 2 pc game. If you would like to see it, go to my Lilith's Whisper blog.

To send your pics for the Blogstream Christmas Movie, please email them to me at dragon.flower@sbcglobal.net

In your email, be sure to tell me your blog screen name and the name of your blog. Pictures need to be submitted within the next 2 weeks in order for the movie to be ready by Christmas. If you have any questions about this project, make a comment or PM me.

Have a great week everyone

What's Going On You Say ?

I miss you Jackie, Belle, Vicky, Polar Bear, Taylor, Daisy, POH and Bella and of course....

Tommy Shwami Salami

I got a ten minute knitting lesson from my sister's mother in law and my little niece and I am knitting away now...I have this 10 stitch wide purple, long thingy going on and I love it !

I have seen some remarkable films this month:

Home Movie Day

Citizen Cane - Suddenly Last Summer - A Cuban Love Song - Hotel Rwanda - Charlie Chaplin Circus  - The Notorious Betti Page - Die Hard

American Gangster - The Bee Movie - The Mist

Have you seen any of the above ?

I had my dad over for Thanksgiving...he looked pale and old and sad.  I feel like I have to be the woman of the family and take care of my dad and brother.  My sister and mother don't feel compelled to do so in a loving way.  I feel no judgment towards them....

The highlight of my Thanksgiving was my oldest daughter came over on Wed to help me cook (it's a day she has no work or school)...we listened to Christmas carols and gossiped and not only was she great company but a huge help.  I truly hope this is going to be a tradition with us.

On Thanksgiving I had all three of my children together...which most people take for granted who have little ones...but the older your children get and when divorces happen and bad feelings occur...these times are fewer and far between.

I cherish the moments I have all three of my children under one roof...it makes me feel safe.

My husband has four children and this phenomenon will probably never happen because of location and other underlying facts attributing to the circumstance.

I know my mom will never be with her eight brothers and sisters in one room again and neither will my dad and his five siblings....we tend to take that for granted.

So I really did feel blessed yesterday.  I had all my babies with me.

Be Careful What You Wish For Jacque and Be Grateful For What You Have

She was the girl in high school who had perfectly feathered hair, boobs, honor roll society, head cheerleader...and graduated in the class of 1983 just like me.

Girls disliked her out of pure jealousy and boys treated her like a sister, only because they had too much respect for the porcelain doll.  You can tell her Daddy loved her.

She was everything I was not...petite, brunette, rich, confident and a brilliant mind that excelled in everything with ease...popular.

Yet, I never disliked her.  We exchanged smiles in the hall.

She probably lived in a big house.  She probably had a pink bedroom.  She probably worshipped with her family on Sundays.  She was probably valued and adored.  She was probably encouraged and treasured.

She was everything I wanted to be.

After high school I decided to spell my name like she did....I waited with patience for four long years to make the change my family never acknowledged to this day.

One day I was no longer Jackie I decided...I am now Jacque...we are both Jacqueline.

She got a new car upon high school graduation with her nickname as vanity plates.  She went to law school.  She never showed up for reunion.

I bought a Pinto with my own money and flew to London.  I received luggage and the biggest jar of pickles for graduation, I went to county college and made a splash at reunion.

I had become the girl everyone wanted to be.

Little did I know she died in 1996..I am still here.

She became a lawyer and married the star quarterback from law school.  He had the nickname Chip and she was known as Crickett.  What did their wedding invitations say ?  I wouldn't know, I wasn't invited.

And of course she had a boy and then a girl.  They moved to a warmer climate.  He bought a bank.  She had her charities, or so her father said to me in an email yesterday.

Her dad's pain came shooting through cyberspace in vague lightning that pierced me.  He never disclosed her cause of death.  He did however disclose pride in her achievements , like he probably did everyday throughout her short life.

The people I have told since then didn't seem to care or even remember as much as I do. She was what I always wanted to be, what I coveted in my mind.

And now she is gone.  Tomorrow, I will thank God I am not her.  And I will whisper a prayer to the other Jacque, the original Jacque.

Funny as I watched Grey's Anatomy last week...it was all about adults reverting back to their high school personas.  Are we still that insecure person almost 25 years later ?  Is it that time which still defines us ?

What is the worth of a life...is Jacque's life worth more because of it's seeming perfection...?  More so than Annie's...who wasn't a lawyer, who didn't have boobs, who didn't have a college degree or a new car upon graduation.

My Annie, who wanted nothing material from this world did however run track in high school and won against future Olympians...but who remembers that?

What is the worth of a life?  In the movie Hotel Ruwanda....$100,000 francs was offered for a huddled crowd of souls.

I constantly try to reinforce in my girls the value of love in one's life and not the material.

Kanye West - who has all the money in the world - lost his mom last week.  There is not a dollar amount he would not give to have his beloved mother back.

Like I said in a prior post...my husband and I pay his ex-wife $450 per WEEK in alimony...(not child support)...and it is a huge unfair financial burden upon us.

What gets me though the day, without hate in my heart, is that I would GLADLY pay $450 per week (and more) to have my Annie back.

there is no price tag on anyone's life

astrology birth report

What feeds you? Many planets in your chart tell you something about your fulfillment. Discover your true self with the Astrology Birth Report.

Thanksgiving is fast approaching — time to plan your feast! Fill your holiday table with gastronomic delights to please the stars... the celestial stars that is. Check the birthdays of everyone on your guest list and then select enticing recipes to match their astrological tastes. The suggestions below take you through all 12 signs of the zodiac. You may find new favorites for yourself, too, and start a fresh tradition!

Aries Side Dishes (March 21 - April 19)
Aries individuals will be starving when they arrive at your door because their forceful, fiery nature burns through food at a rapid rate. These Rams are remarkably gregarious and will be delighted with whatever you choose to quench their hearty appetite. But they do love extravagant foods and pungent spices drive them wild. So serve them Steamed Brocolini with Garlic Lemon Butter and Savory Pumpkin Soup. Champagne will also be a big hit if you have it, but red wine will do nicely.

Taurus Side Dishes (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus make courteous guests with their desire for simple, earthy foods... plus they are not picky eaters. In harmony with nature, determined and masterful, these Bulls have the ability to get along with everyone. Before dinner, you may find them showing off your garden to the guests, as they delight in the beauty nature provides. You can seduce them with voluptuous fruits, sensual delights and full-bodied wines. Include Candied Yams, Cranberry Fruit Salad and plenty of other courses because they like to leave the table satisfied.

Look to your zodiac sign to fulfill your cravings.

Gemini Side Dishes (May 21 - June 20)
Geminis love to be invited to dinner, sometimes more for the social occasion than the food. They are clever, quick-witted... and in their element when surrounded by family and friends. If there is a lull in conversation, don’t worry, with Geminis the banter never stops. The Twins have an intellectual response to food, but can be enticed with exotic ingredients, ethereal tastes and chilled white or sparkling wines. Wild Rice with Cranberries and Pecans, and Orange-Pomegranate Relish have what it takes to pique their curiosity.

Cancer Side Dishes (June 21 - July 22)
Warm, nurturing, fun and outgoing, Cancer are an asset to any occasion. Make sure they know how yummy the food will be when you invite them, since the promise of a scrumptious meal will be more alluring than the graciousness of the host. They love foods that are comforting and almost any wine. Provide plenty – these guests have hearty appetites and will not want to miss a course. Tasty biscuits and Mashed Yellow Turnips are two comfort foods that will be greatly appreciated.

Leo Side Dishes (July 23 - August 22)
Leos enjoy being asked out to eat and are charismatic, fun-loving guests. Grand and luxurious evenings are most appealing. They want to be treated with the respect they feel they deserve, so the overall effect should be spectacular. These proud, self-confident Lions are generous, childish and loving and will be delighted with rich red wine – the best you can afford. For the dramatic tastes Leos will expect, serve Curried Creamed Onions, and Spinach Salad with Oranges and Walnuts.

Virgo Side Dishes (August 23 - September 22)
Virgos love an opportunity to be social and they get along with all types of people. Concerned with health and cleanliness, they can be very fussy about their food. But they will also be the ones most likely to stay behind and help clean the kitchen – so be sure to invite them! Virgins are open to new food ideas but they are also down-to-earth and not particularly extravagant, so serve them Corn Bread Stuffing and Green Bean Casserole.

Libra Side Dishes (September 23 - October 22)
Libras like to keep all their options open so they can go whichever way the wind blows, but if you can get a commitment to your invitation, it will be a very rewarding experience. People and surroundings are important to these charming, romantic and refined natives. The Scales have a burning desire for harmony, are concerned with fair play, and utilize their diplomatic skills to ensure the evening is full of laughter and stimulating conversation. Delight them with interesting dishes like Black Eyed Peas with Sausage and Waldorf Salad.

Scorpio Side Dishes (October 23 - November 21)
When you invite passionate Scorpios to dinner, be prepared to serve an excellent meal. They strive for perfection and will expect the same from you. Serve them plenty of rich red wine... and then be prepared, because they will tell you exactly what they think. When they say they loved your meal, you will know it is the truth. Serve them Pecan Stuffing and Fig-Walnut Salad to appeal to their mysterious side.

Sagittarius Side Dishes (November 22 - December 21)
Sagittarius can arrive at your door dripping from a rainstorm and still be enthusiastic and jovial – they have the ability to make the absolute best from any situation. These jokesters of the zodiac will be quite happy to provide the entertainment, as they love to be surrounded by people. They are extravagant and overindulgent, so have plenty of good wine on hand. Macaroni and Cheese with Parmesan Cheese Topping, and Sage Gravy will appeal to their zesty personalities.
        See Macaroni and Cheese Recipes

Capricorn Side Dishes (December 22 - January 19)
Workaholic Capricorns can be a challenge to get to your table... so tempt them with mention of the fine foods you will be serving. These guests possess a black sense of humor that can add just the twist your party needs. Caviar and champagne are two Capricorn favorites – but they love all kinds of foods, as long as they are high quality. The mixed, caramelized flavors of Collard Greens with Sweet Onion and Maple Cured Bacon, and Roasted Root Vegetables will satisfy their tastes.

Look to your zodiac sign to fulfill your cravings.

Aquarius Side Dishes (January 20 - February 18)
You will want to have at least one Aquarius at any gathering. These unique, futuristic creatures are one of the friendliest, most social signs. Water Bearers are open-minded, unprejudiced and mix well with all kinds of people. Be sure you maintain the discerning eye of the well-organized host, as Aquarians can become so caught up in the social side of the affair, they forget to eat all together. Serving Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Baked Acorn Squash will bring them back to earth.

Pisces Side Dishes (February 19 - March 20)
Pisces love convivial gatherings, so – although the last of the 12 signs – they will most likely be one of the first to accept your invitation. They are natural comedians with just the right mix of mystical, sensitive, inspirational and impractical humor. The Fish will love whatever you provide and can quite easily convince themselves and others that a simple meal is a feast. But you can be sure that Sweet Potato Biscuits and Southern Oyster Dressing will be their special favorites.
