This time last year I made a vow to try to catch up on classic movies, which I enjoy the most.
For instance I finally saw Casablanca this year and Citizen Cane...one I loved (Casablanca) and one I thought was just okay (Citizen Cane)....the cinematography was good...story line...not impressed, I've seen better. What did I miss ?
Each day for the 31 days of Oscar for Turner Class Movies, I will post movies and you can comment on which ones you have seen...which one did you like or dislike...and why.
Try to watch some new movies which have been recognized by the academy.
I must say I am partial to old black and white movies...and new independent films. I kinda don't dig the in-between genre.

It's kinda like this....you switch around channels and certain movies catch your eye...have you seen this scene before, or this movie in it's entirety ?
This is the case with the following:
Them!, 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea & The War of the Worlds. And believe it or not, I have never seen Network...
However !! Don't give up hope on me...this past year I did watch Gandhi. It was an A-MAZING film and so educational. I know I blogged about the film after viewing it, how could I not.
Did you know Gandhi was married ? Did you know he was a lawyer ?
I just thought (prior to watching the movie) that he was this holy man living on a mountain professing peace....uh, no....couldn't be more wrong.
What Have You Seen ? Two Thumbs Up or Two Thumbs Down ?

Personally, I think I may have seen this Robin Hood film but probably not in it's entirety.
And Jaws...of course I've seen. When the movie came out I was just 10 years old and vacationing with my family down the Jersey shore. The movie came out in the summer and theoretically took place in Long Island....not far from where we stayed. My parents and their friends went to see it and needless to say none of them went into the ocean the next day !
What movies have you seen from the above list and what is your opinion ?
