Hmmm... yes, of course, my point exactly.
So... Of all the places you've lived, Denver, Seattle, L.A. and Fresno to name a few, which did you like best, and do you plan on retiring there?
I loved Seattle, it was a cultural hub, with theatre, and music, and I loved the people, the ocean and mountains, but - too much rain, and my ex lives there.... I want to live in the desert, but am unsure about the heat anymore.
So... I don't think it's a secret you live in Texas now, and that part of your job is showing property?
I show towers in North Texas for communication sites, and some really ratty strip center properties.
Well, I'm sure you're aware of what happened in Dallas recently, (the real estate lady who was murdered while supposedly showing a property)... and you, yourself are careful?
Yes, I think she might of been "set up," she went through a messy divorce recently; as for myself, I don't "dress up," when I do a "showing," and I have lots of people around, especially when showing strip property.
Yeah, those "messy divorces." Sounds like you are aware of your surroundings and take plenty of precautions, which is good.
I'm aware of my surroundings, I think I was less safe when my oldest daughter was dating thugs...
I've got to ask this one. Another Blogger on the stream originally interviewed you, but that one met with some resistance and was not published. Why?
There had been some recent "interactive blog to blog play," and the concern was that it (the interview) might attract some negative reactions, so we canceled it.
But with your "high visibility" on the stream, doesn't any interview run that chance?
I suppose so, but it's been awhile now, I don't see a problem.
I wonder if you would share your age and birthday?
I'm 49 and will be 50 on August 1st.
So... you have the same birthday as my brother (Aug 1) and your sign is "Leo," which is the name of one of my characters on my blog. A lot of Leo's, eh?
No kidding? Your brother's birthday is August 1st too; see, Six's and Pup's are the same also. Coincidence?
So... do you like the character Leo?
I love Leo the character... he's a water sign though.
Oops! what do you mean... a water sign?
Pisces... born in March.
That's odd, I don't remember giving him a "birthday"?
I know.
Hmmm...
Maybe I just imagined him as a "March guy," he's too dreamy for a Scorpio, so, he has to be a water sign with his intuition and shifting abilities. I guess you would like me to stop speculating about your character, but he is amazing...
No, not a problem, it was me that brought him up, but this interview is about you, so... moving on, "If you could go anywhere in the world on a 3 week vacation without money worries, or any worries for that matter, and everything was laid out as dictated by you, where would you go, and what would you do?"
I think I would go to Italy. Rent a villa and tour the countryside. I doubt I will ever have the opportunity to go, now, but I would do at least a week of museums and seeing the great art. I would play classical music real loud and it would ring throughout the villa, and I would sleep with the windows open and the wind blowing through the room. I would have the local Mafia as security, and there would be a large swimming pool and beautiful gardens.
I was thinking "the islands," perhaps Jamaica, but I must say you just painted one hell of a picture, and in fact I could almost make it my same desire, except maybe for the Mafia.....lol.
I've never been to Hawaii, and that occurred to me, but it's too commercial. John wants to go back to Hawaii, he's into scuba diving, so, I guess I'll be going to Italy without him...lol.
Oh, I kinda doubt he'd let you do that. My youngest son went to Hawaii on his honeymoon, and was "under-impressed," but I think he might of been a little "young," to fully appreciate it. I could spend a couple of days just at Pearl Harbor.
Yes, but I want a place that has no sadness, and where I have no roots. As for John, I think our days of going everywhere together are over. I'm a realist, and I don't want to go back...
Do you have a dark complexion or light? Seems like in one of your blogs you described yourself as possessing a dark complexion.
I have a farmers tan right now, I'm not really pale, maybe a little on the dark side with a little Indian blood mixed with the German on one side and the English Irish on the other. My kids are very pale.
You spoke of "your days of going everywhere with John," as being over, why is that?
It's all to do with me being a "commitment phobic," I'm not sure I want a partner for life. Maybe I'll move to Italy and acquire a gigilo... I don't know how to spell it though, so I doubt I would ever do it.
Well, I checked the spelling and you were only one letter off, and in any event all you'd need to do is - pronounce it right....lol.
Ok... Who was that Scarlet O'Hara character - grown old?
I don't know, can you elaborate?
The movie where Vivian Leigh went to Italy and met a young Warren Beatty.
I get the drift, although I didn't see the movie, and speaking of movies... what's your all-time favorite?
The Maltese Falcon.
Hmm.. I have it, and love it. Humphrey Bogart was out of this world in my opinion, and I miss him and others like him. By the way, your answer surprises me a little.
Bogart in his prime... the beginning of mystery in film, characters with dark sides, a heroine murderer, an anti-hero that loves her, and takes her down anyway... I love classic films, like Hitchcock, "The 39 Steps".
Did you ever see "Farewell My Lovely," with Robert Mitchum?
Yes, wasn't the screenplay based on Raymond Chandler's book?
Yes, one of my favorite authors. "The 39 Steps," never appealed to me, nor Hitchcock actually, except for that one that had Jimmy Stewart in a wheelchair... I forget the name.
"Rear Window,"...his best.
I agree.
"Classical Music?" Did your Dad introduce you to it?
NO... My Dad was really into country music.
So... where did you acquire your love of it?
My parents loved live theatre, and when I was 19 I ran across a boxed set of LP's, (classical music). I lost them in my divorce, my ex held them for ransom and although I returned his finger, (he still has it in the fridge), he gave my albums away.
Lol, you must elaborate on "the finger in the fridge," it sounds like a poem by Edgar Allen Poe.
My ex lost his finger in a construction accident, and it couldn't be reattached, so he kept it in a small bottle (in alcohol). When we split he took everything but forgot the finger. I held it for ransom, but eventually gave it back. He was sentimental about it, and the kids say he still keeps it close to him.... The ransom was unsuccessful, but I had no use for the finger, so...
X'cuse me... I'm laughing, and I guess, “you gave him the finger,” in the truest form...lol.
I know.
Hilarious...
It was a funny time in my life... I really wanted to be rid of "all" of him, and the finger needed to go back to him. He used to take it out and show people, as an ... "icebreaker."
Still laughing... "some icebreaker"...
Yeah, it was hard to keep friends (couples especially), they were afraid he would bring out other body parts.
And you say you have a problem with humor in your writings...
You say in your "100 Interesting Things About Myself," that you've "never" been addicted to sex, which I find interesting because I think that most people, men/women, would say the same thing. I guess the "key" word here is "addicted." Why do you feel the need to make the statement?
Early on in the Blogstream there was a lot of kidding around and sexual innuendo, I'm kinda like that in real life too. Anyway, at the time I added that to my list of "100 things", I had just posted the "Sundance Saloon" posts where I admitted to having a few partners, many years ago, and I just wanted to set the record straight.
I'd say you have. My own opinion on that subject, (addicted to sex) is this; "I'm addicted to people, and sex is something that people do, so, in a way I might be addicted to sex, I guess."
Cute.. Ice.
That's my story and I'm sticking with it.... lol.
